DEBUTING THE HODB POP UP STORE AT MALLS
Hodb Hot on Da Block is a voice for people in arts and culture, we started creating media, and doing online radio with a pretty good sizable audience from all over the world and started podcasting and profiling music industry veterans and friends in entertainment and media , and wanted to give a voice to up coming athletes, and personal brands and our radio online audience was being built and we decided to bring people in who were representative of our listeners now consumers and what our brand stands for.
We came to realize that we want to give our audience a way to support the brands that are under our umbrella. We are introducing streetwear and our placement in the market is based on an approachable price point that meets the requirement of quality, in the materials we use, and the customers we sell to. We want to lean towards the higher end.
We sit at lower end Luxury until we can introduce our eyewear and watches.
We are young and youthful and part of this Unique Collection is inviting our partners to be part of the line.
Again I am not a designer just the visionary behind the painting of this picture.
....
Tell us about your fashion background and how did you get here?
My fashion background is of a consumer, a shopper, some one who appreciates good quality clothing and items and my love for looking good is a huge part of me stumbling into creating brands. I would say my expertise is in sales.
I started to create logos as an adolescent. I had two neighbors , Gus and Nelson who were into graffiti, I grew up in Queens Nyc in the hiphop Golden era and Queens is the melting pot. I came up in the city of Woodside a Diverse Neighbourhood on Skillman Ave. The Irish and italians were transitioning out, and was around alot of culture, I Lived between a heavily latino populated neighebrhood and the projects while Gus and Nelson became from the Bronx and were an influence in me appreciating art. I spent alot of time with them I was like the little brother. Their was art all around. I was a little brother to alot of good people at the time. The drug dealers used to wear Polo and then streewear like Karl Kani and echo and others came to the market. One night we went outside to the back of our building and I never new it was a place where kids in the neighbourhood were doing graffiti on walls and just hanging out. I Think I was about 8 or 9 when I picked up an aerosol can and tagged on a wall. That was my first brand.
I did not really pursue being a graffiti writer because I was into other hustles.
I think we are living at a time where we are heavily influenced by brands their are alot of great brands out their with sense of style.
We are looking for imagery for the brand to be fun and a casual vibe. I want to say we are going to be a combination of young and youthful. And obtainable as a design house but more affordable and approachable.
HODB HOT ON DA BLOCK the name plays a role in how we are going to style and define the collections and fashion style.
I think sounds casual and laid back and part of our dna is out name.
We want Everyone to be part of our story and pass by our Debut Pop Store until other retailers and big box stores carry out products.
